AIRPORT PICK UP AND NANNY SHIPPING (DOORSTEP DELIVERY)
Shipping a Frenchie puppy is a common concern for many families. At Frenchie Bully, we have over 15 years of experience safely transporting puppies across the USA and Canada. While we understand these concerns, our detailed process ensures that every Frenchie arrives safely, comfortably, and with minimal stress.
Airline Requirements for Shipping Your Puppy
To transport a Frenchie puppy to another state or country, airlines require a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of travel. This certificate confirms that the puppy is healthy and fit to fly. Some airlines also request an acclimation statement, verifying the puppy can safely tolerate temperatures within a specific range for short periods.
For safety, puppies cannot be sedated, as sedation can affect balance and increase risk during travel. Depending on the airline, puppies are either checked in or picked up at the airport terminal, and doorstep delivery is available if requested or paid for. Puppies are generally checked in about two hours prior to the flight and are ready for pickup 30–45 minutes after arrival or delivered directly to your home.
The Flight
Once checked in, Frenchie puppies travel in the passenger cabin alongside a trained nanny who accompanies them. The cabin is temperature-controlled and pressurized to ensure comfort and safety. Many airlines transport pets in heated or air-conditioned vans to and from the plane. Airlines that lack this option will not ship pets if the temperature falls below 25°F or exceeds 85°F.
We understand concerns about the stress of flying. At Frenchie Bully, we make every effort to reduce anxiety during transport. Puppies travel in carriers lined with absorbent bedding for comfort and to handle any accidents. A thick layer of paper towels allows puppies to burrow and feel secure, providing warmth and a safe “hiding place” during the journey.
After Your Puppy Arrives
Upon arrival at the airport or doorstep, most Frenchies are relieved and excited to see familiar faces. If you’ve arranged airport pickup, bring baby wipes and a towel for a quick cleanup, especially if it’s a long ride home. For longer trips, allow your puppy to stretch their legs, but some puppies feel safer remaining in their carrier until home.
Once home, start your Frenchie in a small room—a bathroom is ideal—to encourage exploration without overwhelming them. We include a teaser toy, two cans of wet food, and a small bag of dry food with the carrier to help your puppy settle in. Playtime and interaction are the fastest ways to reduce fear, build confidence, and help your Frenchie adjust.
